Hismile HA5 Mouthwash
HA5 consists predominantly of Hyaluronic Acid and contains secondary ingredients such as Xylitol and a combination of 8 plant based ingredients. This formulation contains ingredients for
assisting with hydrating gums, providing antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, and reducing irritation to the oral mucosa.
A naturally occurring substance, Hyaluronic acid is found throughout the body and serves vital functions whilst keeping cells hydrated. The application of hyaluronic acid in dentistry is still
considered to be new, however its effects in healing and reducing inflammation are well-known and can be exploited.
The secondary plant based ingredients support Hyaluronic Acid’s effects by assisting in the prevention of periodontal bacteria growth.
Swish 15ml of HA5 for 30-45 seconds daily. Expel after use, do not swallow. Refrain from rinsing mouth with water.

Hyaluronic Acid is a key element in the soft periodontal tissues, gingiva, and periodontal ligament, and is also present in hard tissues, such as alveolar bone and cementum. It has many
structural and physiological functions within these tissues such as the regulation of water content within tissue cells.
HA5 contains Hyaluronic acid of a high-molecular-weight as it possesses certain benefits that a lower molecular weight cannot provide. Low-molecular-weight HA plays a role in signaling
tissue damage and mobilizing immune cells, whilst a high-molecular-weight HA is superior at suppressing the immune response preventing excessive exacerbations of tissue inflammation.
Tissue inflammation causes the release of free radicals (superoxide radical and hydroxyl radical) within the soft tissue. When these radicals come into contact with a high-molecular-weight HA, they fragment the HA molecules which triggers the immune response to heal non-mineralised (soft) tissues. A low-molecular-weight HA would not efficiently suppress the radicals causing continued inflammation.
